This is a very early Omega from about 1900. It could even be earlier but without a serial number or markings is hard to tell. Importantly it's driven by the Omega 30''' 8-D L15P calibre movement.
It weighs a mighty 368 grams and has a case diameter of 76 mm! This is much bigger and heavier than the normal pocket watch most people would carry and was not produced for normal retail or domestic purposes. It was more a commercial watch where practicality of function was more important than aesthetics. It was easy to tell the time even in low-light situation. It was very robust, beautifully engineered, mechanically simple, accurate and ran for up to 8 days on a single wind.
The watch has a porcelain dial and is free of hairline cracks and repairs. Unlike metal dials porcelain dials of this period often retain their whitness over time. This is no exception. Poire, blued steel hands. Small seconds sunken sub-dial at 6. Large Arabic numerals in saturated black. Railroad track outer for the minutes.
The metal case is in excellent condition. No dinks, just minor scratches from careful use. Opening the case-back reveals a metal dust cover. As you would expect the winding assembly is super robust. The big knurled crown largely retains its sharp edges. Sturdy bow and stem. On the case-back there are engraved initals and a date; the date probably relating to a birthday or significant date but not to the date of manufacture.
An excellent working example.
