This 1947 Omega Chronomètre is a genuine collector's piece. The 30T2 calibre is one of the most historically significant movements Omega ever produced — developed during the Second World War, it became the backbone of Omega's postwar reputation for precision. The RG designation marks this as the Chronomètre-rated version: individually tested and certified to chronometer standard, which is reflected proudly on the dial itself. Finding one in a solid gold case is increasingly rare.
The 14k solid gold case (stamped 14k/.585 on the inner case back) measures 32.8mm excluding the crown — a refined, wrist-hugging size entirely in keeping with the period. The lugs are crisp, with no dings or case damage.
The dial is the star. Original and unrestored, it carries a rich, warm patina that only genuine age produces — the kind collectors actively seek. The two-tone chapter ring with its fine minute track, Roman numerals, and dot indices remains fully legible. Silver hands and gold sweep seconds hand. The deep-domed crystal is intact. The crown may be a replacement.
The watch is running well.
Offered on a replacement tan leather strap.
