This is an excellent Omega 1/1,000th minute timer from the 1960s

A unique opportunity to collect one of these rare timers in exceptional condition. It's rare for two reasons. Firstly its condition. Secondly, for its high speed.

It takes 6 seconds for the hand to sweep one complete rotation of the dial. 6 seconds is equal to 1/10th of a minute. The dial consists of 100 indexes so each index represents 1/1,000th of a minute. So this industrial timer would have been used to measure processes in 1,000ths of a minute rather than seconds.

The small secondary dial can record cumulatively up to 3 minutes.

The condition is almost new.

The dial and everything about the dial is in perfect condition. The white hasn't discoloured and the black print remains fully saturated. Fabulous blue steel hands. Very slight scratches on the plexiglass. It is signed Omega together with Prestons Ltd Blackpool. This too is uncommon as Omega timers are usually associated with the Prestons Timer Division at Bolton. Sadly Prestons recently closed down.

The case only has  micro scratches. There is a sticker on the case back. Beautiful crown with "as new" sharp detailing. The crown and pusher work as they should. Depress the crown once to start, again to stop, a third time to restart etc. Press the pusher to reset to zero. Opening the back takes you to a dust cover. Removing this reveals the beautifully engineered Omega calibre 5325. It's fully marked with Omega, Swiss, 7 jewels, the Omega logo, calibre number and serial number. Spotless inside and runs as it should.

A rare high speed timer!
