This 1954 Omega Seamaster is a really distinctive timepiece that will sit generously on any wrist with its rare hooded lugs, black dial and contrasting stainless steel case.
I suspect that at some time in its distant past the owner has had the dial refurbished although, as with most watches that have been worn, the finish has faded over the years. Subjectively, some may choose to liven it up by having the silver hour batons polished and the minute indexes touched up. Dauphine hands and sweep seconds hand. Genuine Omega acrylic with the logo etched in the centre. Replacement Omega crown.
The stainless steel case is in very good condition. The snap-fit case-back is marked Seamaster and Waterproof (it isn't!) on the outside and is fully signed Omega on the inside.
The watch is run by the Omega made 354 calibre. This is one of the Omega "bumper" movements that wind the automatically from the movement of the wrist when worn.
It comes with a lightly used genuine lizard skin strap and silver buckle (both non Omega).
