There is so much that could be said about this Seamaster but I will leave you to look at the pictures. The high definition, full-size originals, are available upon request. Note that the watch is more (yellow) golden than in the pictures!
Manufactured in 1950 the dial is reminiscent of the Omega Auromatics of the period. Elegant and understated with beautifully proportioned dial furniture. The two-tone coloures have softened over time and the whole dial displays an even patina. Solid gold applied hour batons. Gold Dauphine hands and a contrasting black sweep seconds hand. As a technical dial, the seconds index is subdivided into 1/5 of a second with beautiful definition. The Omega logo is solid gold. Signed Omega, Automatic, Seamaster and Swiss Made in black. Original Seamaster crown.
The case and case-back are in superb condition. All solid 14k gold and with the classical beefy lugs this was the robust watch for the active man. Fortunately, this watch has seen no such action! All the edges are well defined with hardly a visible mark anywhere to be seen. The inside of the case-back is fully marked Omega and 14k gold.
The watch is run by the Omega calbre 351. It's a superb bumper unit that transfers the energy from the moving wrist to wind the watch up automatically. It runs well as you would expect.
The strap is used but excellent quality leather.
