Many of you will know that the Omega 30T2 watch movement played a large part in Omega's success for over 25 years. Introduced in 1939 the 30T2 and its derivatives were superbly designed and engineered with many surviving to this day.
This particular example sits in a beefy stainless steel case, not unlike the legendary Seamaster. It measures about 35mm in diameter (excluding the crown) which is slightly larger (about 1mm) than the average Seamaster. The case is in good condition and looks to have been polished at some time. The underside of the screw case-back is fully marked Omega. The 30T2 movement is also in very good condition and has been recently serviced.
The dial has a very attractive patina and there are signs that it has had attention in the distant past. The Arabic numbers look to have been relumed and the dial surface shades from cream to gold. It has luminous (no longer luminous) pointed baton hands in gold with a matching small seconds hand within a sunken sub-dial. Signed with the Omega logo and printed Omega. The crown is not marked with Omega but that is consistent with the period and it is of the right design.
The watch comes fitted with a new tan genuine leather non-Omega strap.
