A delightful Omega from the WW11 era with a technical dial and a rare patented case fastener, all in very good condition. Slightly larger than the average classic Seamaster introduced a little later in 1948.
The stainless steel case has only a few dinks and scratches commenserate with a watch that has been well cared for. On the inside of the case-back it is fully marked Omega together with the patent. The case-back sits in place and then has a stainless steel locking ring slip over it which locks the case-back to the case.
The two tone dial has aged well with an even patina. Roman numerals printed at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12. Dots at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11. Being a technical dial each minute index is split by 5 sub-indexes which helps create a very fine appearance. Polished steel leef hands. Generic crown. Blued steel sweep seconds hand. In black print is the Omega logo, Omega, Automatic and Fab.Suisse.
The watch runs very well and inside is an early Omega automatic "bumper" movement. When the watch is worn and the arm moves a rotor absorbs the energy and bumps back and forth against springs to wind the watch.
A used, French-made genuine lizard strap is fitted.
