The Juvenia Watch Company was established in Saint-Imier, Switzerland in 1860 by Jacques Didisheim - Juvenia being his wife's name. The company trades today with a range of exclusive high-quality watches.
The multi-level dial is in good condition with signs of aging. Black Arabic numerals for the hours with additional numerals in red for 13 - 24. Beautiful blued steel hands. Sunken small seconds sub-dial at 6. The dial is signed Juvenia, P A Collot, Lco Marques, the original retailer of the watch. Lourenço Marques was a port city and capital of Mozambique until 1976.
The case is in good condition and is gunmetal coloured - more so than depicted on the picture of the back of the watch. The dust cover has the Juvenia crest and is signed Juvenia, Balancier Compensateur Precision Chronomatrique.
The chronometer movement is in excellent condition and those with an experienced eye will notice the three solid gold double-screwed chatons holding the jewels in place.
An excellent timepiece of swiss watchmaking heritage.
