This is a very early Omega pocket watch that may date from 1894 and probably no later than 1902. The movement is unmarked which is normal for many of the early Omega pocket watches and has been identified as the Omega 19''' L 7-16P.
The dial is enamel and in excellent condition with no repairs or hairline cracks. The Roman numeral hour markers are in well-saturated black print. There is a railroad track outer for the minutes. It has wonderful Poire hands in blued steel and both are in excellent condition. Small seconds sunken sub-dial at 6.
The gunmetal case has no significant dents or scratches however the surface has aged over the past century and there is some rusting to the exterior on the back. The case back snaps shut tightly and on the inside it is marked Omega together with a serial number that corresponds to that on the dust cover which is the next layer of protection. This too snaps shut tightly.
The Omega 19''' L 7-16P is in excellent condition. The quality of the case engineering has kept it protected over the years and the movement will serve the watch well for many years to come. Runs about 5 minutes slow per day.
A superb timepiece and an excellent example of very early Omega heritage.
