This is one of the very early pocket watches made by Omega which dates from around 1898. These are really quite rare now and it's unusual to find one in such good condition.

The enamel dial remains almost as white as the day it was made. Unmarked and with no hairline cracks. The hours are represented by saturated black Roman numerals and the minutes with a railroad track outer. It has gold coloured Poire hands. There is a sunken small seconds sub-dial at 6.

The metal case is in exceptionally good condition with no significant dinks or scratches. Original bale and crown. The case-back is hinged and reveals the Omega stamp and logo on the inside. This reveals a hinged dust cover which, in turn, lifts to reveal the Omega movement.

Inside is the Omega calibre 17''' L and this dates the watch to around 1898 possible a little later. For an antique watch that's about 125 years old it's in excellent condition and a reflection of a watch that has not only been well cared-for but has seen little use. Runs well.

An exceptionally nice piece of early Omega heritage.
