1968 Omega Seamaster 600, manual wind in a gold plated case.
The Seamaster 600 was introduced in the mid-1960s and had a significantly different appearance to earlier Seamasters. The bezel was slim as were the lugs and this gave the appearance of a more elegant dress watch rather than a bulky sports watch. The 600 referred to the calibre series which in this case is the 613.
The condition of the dial is excellent. There's no deterioration of the surface and the colour is even with no aging patches. There are gold coloured applied hour batons and matching gold-coloured hands. Sweep seconds hand. Quickset date at three. Pull/push the crown to adjust the date when necessary. Applied Omega logo in gold with Omega, Seamaster 600 and Swiss Made printed in black. The acrylic is original with the Omega logo etched in the centre.
The case is gold-plated to 40 microns. The condition of the plating is very good with few signs that it is rubbing through. The original Omega crown has lost its gold plating at the end. There are no major dents or scratches just the obvious signs of general wear. The case-back is stainless steel with the Seamonster engraved in the centre. This is a screw-on case back and is in similarly excellent condition.
The watch is run by the Omega made calibre 613. This is manually wound and as can be seen in the pictures is also in excellent condition. Keeps accurate time.
The watch comes with a lightly used lizard grain strap and Omega buckle.
