During the 1960s Omega made significant changes to the outward appearance of the Constellation. The slimmer bezel and slender lugs together with a more angular appearance brought it back into fashion. As a result, it wears larger on the wrist than its predecessor. This 1968 version has all these attributes and, for a watch that is some 50 years it, is in excellent condition.

The case is gold capped with a very generous layer of gold. As a result of this and little use, there are no signs of rub through even on the lugs. There are a few marks here and there but they are very small. The case-back is stainless steel with a few scratches where a tool has slipped when trying to open the watch. In the centre is the solid 18k gold medallion of the observatory and 8 stars all of which are still well defined and crisp.

The dial has a vertical brush effect and is in very good condition. There are a few minor spots but you would be pushed to see these without magnification. The gold-colored rectangular hour batons are topped in black and there are hands to match. Sweep seconds hand. The Omega logo and script are applied whilst Automatic, Chronometer, Officially Certified, Constellation and Swiss Made are printed in black. Applied gold star. It has a quick set date at three which automatically changes.

The movement is the Omega calibre 564. Fully serviced.

The watch comes with a new genuine leather non-Omega strap. Different from the one in the pictures.
