Introduced in December 1964 with its "C" shape case this is the third generation Constellation. The integrated lugs were a quantum leap in design change from the classic that went before.
For sale here is an example in excellent condition with a solid, heavy 18k gold case.
The sunburst silver dial is excellent. Slim, blacktopped hour indexes. Complimentary black hands and a contrasting gold coloured seconds hand. Applied Omega and logo in gold. Signed automatic, chronometer, Constellation and officially certified in black. Applied gold star. Quick-set date at 3. Genuine Omega acrylic and signed crown.
The case is in excellent condition free of any dents and scratches. Being solid gold It could easily be polished to come up as new. The case-back is a screw fit and sports the Omega solid gold medallion with its observatory and 8 stars. The relief is very sharp and detailed so the watch clearly has had very little use. Inside the case-back is fully signed Omega and stamped .750 (18k).
The watch is powered by the Omega automatic 564 chronometer calibre. Superbly engineered at a time when no one could compete with Omega chronometer movements.
Will be fitted with a new brown leather strap.
