An all original Seamaster from 1955.
The 1950s Seamasters are probably the most frequently collected of all Omegas. Its heritage originated from Omega watches that were manufactured for the military during WW2 and when it came to the market in 1948 it was advertised as "The Watch For The Active Man". Robust case with beefy lugs. It looked the part and had the performance to match.
This watch has been well looked after over the years. There are only minor marks on the stainless steel case. The case back is marked faintly Seamaster and Waterproof (it is not).
The dial has aged over the years and obtained a wonderful golden patina. Stylish applied arrowhead hour batons with Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12. Gold coloured Dauphine hands. Sweep seconds hand. Genuine Omega acrylic with the Omega logo etched in the centre. Original Seamaster crown.
Inside is the Omega 501 calibre movement. Proven to be reliable over many years. This is an automatic watch that winds itself up when worn and captures the energy generated by the movement of the wrist.
Comes with a worn non-Omega brown suede strap.
