Watches of this period and for many years after were much smaller than the fashion of today. Omega would occasionally produce a "Jumbo" and at a shade under 39mm this watch is one of those and has real wrist presence.
The beautiful pink two-tone dial is a perfect match for the gold-plated case. Painted Arabic 12 with applied arrow and dot hour batons. Contrasting copper-tone hands. Small seconds at 6 with a guilloche sunken sub-dial. Excellent crystal. Crown signed Omega. Manual wind. Examining the dial under magnification suggests to me that it may have been historically restored.
The case is gold plate. Typically plate is less than 1 micron thick whereas the minimum thickness for Omega is 20 microns. The gold on this case is a massive 80 microns thick which accounts for there being no signs of rubbing through. Fully signed Omega inside. On the case back there is a significant area of gold loss where I believe someone has buffed it to see whether it's solid gold!
Inside is the Omega 265 calibre, a derivative of the famous 30T2, acknowledged as being the mainstay for Omega's success for a quarter of a century. It's running really well.
I've included as picture of this watch alongside an Omega Constellation (34.5mm) so you can see just how impressive it is.
Comes with a used brown leather strap and Omega signed buckle.
